PALETTE TO PAINTING

CAUTION

WET PAINT

Painting three monumental, hand-stretched custom canvases at the same time was an incredible challenge both artistically and physically. The work installed perfectly to the walls of my clients penthouse great room walls, shown below.
"CAPRICCIO"
MURAL | DINING ROOM | WORTH AVENUE, PALM BEACH, FLORIDA
360° PANORAMA OF VENICE  |  OIL ON CANVAS

Inspired by the studied, detailed and enchanting works of American master Martin Heade, Quetzals embodies a love for the scientific understanding of nature as well as the aesthetic appreciation of its design and diversity.

MARTIN JOHNSON HEADE |  1819 - 1904

"AFTER MONET"
TRYPTCH MURAL | GREAT ROOM | SOUTH OCEAN DRIVE PENTHOUSE
3 PANELS | 7' X 12' | OIL ON CANVAS
"QUETZALS"
MURAL | DINING ROOM | PALM BEACH, FLORIDA
360° PANORAMA OF VENICE  |  OIL ON CANVAS
Original sketch for "Quetzal" Mural. Drawing is then scaled and transferred to canvas by hand.
Finished canvas in studio ready for installation to dining room alcove. Fits perfectly and accents the decor of this beautiful Palm Beach Florida home.
Painting on location for eleven months, no detail was spared to create this intricate panoramic mural of 18th century Venice.

To paint Venice I turned to the 18th century works of Canaletto. His early works show a poetic responsiveness to the light, atmosphere, and moods of Venice, along with an eye for striking compositions that stayed with him for life. He also evolved an increasingly linear, firm manner that suited his clients' demands for accuracy.

GIOVANNI  ANTONIO CANAL |  1697 - 1768

To paint Monet I had to understand Monet, How he held a brush. Why he painted.

What he was thinking.

How he saw.

The age in which he lived.

His circle of friends and contemporaries.

Emerson, Renoir, Degas, Einstein, Faraday, Curie, Planck....
